SIR - Driving along a country road at Cullingworth, I observed a mechanical pavement sweeper working along the pavement.

Highly commendable, trouble is very few people live on the road and the pavement was not dirty, although covered in grass.

On the other side of the coin, Thornton village and its surrounding area never, ever gets any such attention. Our main road and side streets could really do with a severe clean up.

Why do we never have attention from a mechanical sweeper? Are we not dirty enough, or, compared to Cullingworth, not clean enough?

Come on Bradford cleansing, let's have some attention.
