SIR – Mark Elder, conductor of the Halle Orchestra, stated (T&A, September 18) that “St George’s Hall is not quite right for large-scale performances”.
Along with the members of BORG and the vast majority of letter-writers to the T&A on this subject, could I suggest that a refurbished Odeon could be the answer to Sir Mark’s dilemma?
