SIR – Instead of ringing the benefits office to tell them he wouldn’t need them anymore as he had just won £11 million on the Lottery, would it not have been better if Peter Redikin of Cheshire had sent a cheque to cover the state handouts he had received over the past 15 years? Just a thought.
