SIR – I am not a supporter of the English Defence League and in fact had heard little of them until you decided to tell readers of the T&A about them with your headlines.
Other organisations, some Islamic, some not, are allowed to walk through our cities whether we agree with their point of view or not.
Is the EDL an illegal organisation? No. Have they followed the correct procedure before being given permission for their walk? Yes.
You cannot undermine the democratic right just because you find the EDL views objectionable.
