SIR – Having attended The Antiques Roadshow’s visit to Bradford, with around 5,000 others, I found the whole event a complete fiasco and very badly-organised.
Listening to others’ comments, I was not alone with my impression.
The main point of contention was the inadequacy of the venue – Victoria Hall in Saltaire, though impressive, was far too small for such an event.
The show’s last visit to Bradford was staged at the Richard Dunn Sports Centre and was a successful event in comparison, though the setting was austere compared to our beautiful Victoria Hall. The visit made me realise that for a major city like Bradford we have no exhibition hall where a major event could be staged. We desperately need the Odeon building as an asset to our city.
