SIR – I raise serious doubts about the Power 2010 campaign organisation and their poster, which depicted three Labour and three Conservative MPs (T&A, March 23).

I was e-mail canvassed months ago, read the content and chose my preferences from the ‘wish list’ of reforms.

I did not vote for proportional representation. The final late voting surge put it 80 per cent ahead of the second choice.

Contributors were then asked to confirm support for the top five reforms listed, even if they did not agree with every choice. I flatly refused! Soon after the result, blogs were published on their website.

I tried to add mine; I would not support any list containing PR. I believe significant late voting had boosted PR to the top priority, and votes from political parties must have helped, particularly from the Lib/Dems, as PR was their “holy grail”.

Proportional representation could not have reached the top five had many Conservative and Labour Party supporters taken part.

I believe a covert plot has unfolded. Research shows Power 2010 is funded by the Joseph Rowntree Reform Trust, who substantially fund the Liberal Democrat Party.

My blog was refused unless I signed the confirmation.
