SIR – Sat in a cafe in Haworth waiting for our coach back to Liverpool, we just had to say what a fantastic day eight of us had watching the “scroggling the holly”.
A big thank you to the organisers, and especially the children who took part. You were great, and should feel proud of yourselves.
But there’s always one, isn’t there? Why did one mother have to pick up her child above her head every time the parade stopped?
At the top of the street, the “opening of the gates of Christmas” ceremony went brilliantly. Again, congratulations to all concerned.
But one moaner thought that she could have done it better. When we looked, yes, of course, it was the same woman.
Still we had a fab day and we’ll be back next year.
Keep up the good work, Haworth – just hope she’s not there.
Elsie Haworth, Queen’s Street, Liverpool
