SIR – On Friday, October 30, my family and I visited Bolling Hall museum on ‘the most haunted date’ in the museum’s calendar.
What a spooky event it turned to be, with a full moon to set the scene, adding the most atmospheric of lighting to the Hall.
For an hour we made our way around the many rooms, nooks and crannies, tormented and pursued by ghouls, ghosts and other ghastly things in their relentless attempts to scare us witless.
The three young men in front of us were truly terrified, having been dared to attend the event by family. Their screams could be heard all over the hall.
We fared no better; just when we thought it was safe, another fiendish creature was upon us and we were begging for mercy.
This was an excellent event and well-organised. It was a joy to see people of all ages entering into the ‘spirit’ of the occasion.
The staff are to be congratulated on their professional performance.
