SIR – How blind and ignorant does a government have to be before it owns up to its own basic faults?
I hear, and have read elsewhere, that it is to take legal action against parents who give false information on the forms required to get their children into the school of their choice.
In the main, this applies to ‘flipping’ their address, so that they will appear to be within a school’s catchment area.
Now we look at our MPs, who have been guilty of ‘flipping’ their address to obtain expenses, the very people who are prepared to take action against the parents.
In the first case, they are guilty of trying to do their best for their children’s education in a system engineered by the politicians, with no benefit to themselves.
In the second case, I believe they are guilty of theft (there’s no other word for it). So if it is considered that parents are liable to prosecution, just what are they going to do about our politicians?
