SIR – Neil Craig is correct to query the situation regarding Low Moor station, as little tangible progress has been made over the last ten years (Letters, October 12).

Since rail privatisation, the reopening of stations has become unduly complicated in England, as opposed to other parts of Great Britain, where new lines have been built in addition to new stations.

Prior to privatisation, various stations were reopened, including Frizinghall, Saltaire and Bramley.

The failure to reopen Low Moor station is analogous to the lack of progress regarding the Broadway site, confirming the impotency of Bradford Council and Bradford Centre Regeneration.

The latest decision regarding the Odeon is the final insult in a long saga of underachievement.

Bradford has been poorly served by those responsible for its well being.
