SIR – The annual Bradford Regeneration Conference was held last week (T&A, October 15), which the Council’s director of regeneration Barra Mac Ruairi said would be thought-provoking and productive.
It seems that there were 170 delegates attending, but perhaps Mr Mac Ruairi could be asked how many of these were what should be the most important stakeholders of all, the actual residents of our city?
Way back in February, 2008, Councillor Hopkins, at a meeting at the Midland Hotel, promised regular ongoing consultation with the city’s residents. That nothing has been forthcoming from this tells us all we need to know about both his attitude and that of the Council as a whole.
It is not a happy story. This lack of a listening ear may be something for the voters of Keighley to remember at General Election time!
