SIR – Why are there so many people wishing to come to England as asylum seekers? The answer is quite simple: they are guaranteed to be looked after, albeit in prison – they are fed and sheltered and given medical care.

If they break the law, they are given pathetic sentences by a judicial system that should be scrapped.

If it weren’t so pathetic, it would be laughable that the judiciary is allowed to ponce about in wigs and gowns, and all the time, lining their pockets with vast amounts of public money.

Is there anybody in power who is bothered about the real, honest and law-abiding people who have to put up with this madness? I think not!
