SIR – I refer to two letters you have published regarding a photograph which I loaned to the T&A some time ago for a “Past Times” feature.
A letter dated July 15 refers to the photo “showing evacuees leaving Bradford” which is incorrect. The photograph actually shows a rehearsal for evacuation taking place at Bradford (Forster Square) station.
It is a press photograph which is part of my collection, and I am delighted that it has been the focus of so much interest. If readers are interested in seeing other photographs of the railway scene around Bradford, my first book Along Familiar Lines which looks at the human story surrounding railway operation in Bradford, is due to be published in August and will be available locally.
