SIR - I write to ask for help from businesses, shoppers and motorists in the area.
Throughout Britain, independent shops are vanishing from our high streets and market towns.
Our small town still has a thriving high street and a relaxed social way of life. This is now threatened by the district Council's drive to introduce car parking charges.
The UK's biggest business organisation, the Federation of Small Businesses, is supporting our call to hear from people affected by car parking charges.
We can then approach government on behalf of everyone throughout the country, who cares about the quality of our towns now and in the future.
Please write to us at the address below and, if possible copy your letter to national and local leaders of all political parties.
