SIR - In response to D S Boyes's letter (T&A, March 25) stating that Britain has no control over immigration due to the EU's open door attitude, he is correct in saying that most immigrants make a bee line for Britain.
There is an answer, if only our Government had the bottle to implicate it.
That is; do not offer free housing or any benefits including National Health to anyone who enters the country until they have lived here at least five years and only if they have worked and provided for themselves.
I believe the Government should also stop pouring money into large families.
Pay for the first two and if people want more let them provide for them themselves.
In the 1950s no-one claimed family allowance for every child as far as my parents remember and they coped to feed and clothe us.
