SIR - Graham Hoyle continues to insist that the EU Treaty is 95 per cent constitution (T&A, March 26).

Take two 1,000lb bombs: one is 95 per cent identical to the other but has no fuse and is harmless. Get my drift?

Mr Hoyle should tell us why he is so frightened of a constitution, even one a pure 100 per cent not just a "95 per cent constitution".

As I previously stated, we should ignore any constitutions, treaties or agreements which end up acting against the interests of the UK or which are opposed by the majority of its inhabitants.

If this leads to our expulsion from the EU, tough. As a Europhile, I would accept this. Why should Mr Hoyle, an apparent Europhobe, fear our expulsion?

I really do not think he does. I think that he is just trying to bolster the Tory party and do the others down in the lead up to the local elections by repeating scare stories with little factual basis.
