SIR - The Leeds Bradford International Airport, pictured left, seems to be doing very well (T&A, March 26). Not only will there be over three million passengers this year, a record, but the aim is for five million by 2012.
It's not surprising that the number of flights last year increased by five per cent and that growth is expected to continue.
It's a good job that the carbon emissions from flying are not included in the national total as then we would not be able to pretend that we are meeting the reduction targets that the Government and the EU have set.
