SIR - The "council calamity" letter by Michael Breen (T&A, March 2) criticising the Council's mismanagement, is another echo of disenchantment from Bradford people who still care.
The destruction of many buildings which embraced our city's heritage and are gone forever.
It's interesting that over the last 50 or so years, buildings which replaced the old familiar friends have themselves since been demolished - all in the name of progress?
Now, many Bradfordians are realising that our historic buildings and traditions are being spirited away to be replaced by an ever-changing series of "fantastic" proposals, and a growing number are voicing their protest - and they have every right to do so.
As a great fighter for civil rights once said: "Our lives begin to end the day we become silent about things that matter".
A bit dramatic perhaps, but I recommend the sentiment Keith Sivyer, Dalecroft Rise, Allerton
