SIR - Like Iain Morris (T&A, March 20), I too appreciate the time of year when spring flowers bloom, so I just had to intervene when I saw a group of teenagers kicking off the heads of a bed of daffodils near my home.
Fortunately the nearby crocuses escaped destruction but I am in no doubt that sooner or later they, too, will suffer the same fate, as not one passer-by came to my aid when I confronted the vandals.
Notwithstanding the abuse and threats, I would do the same again and those who turned a blind eye ought to hang their heads in shame.
