SIR - My husband and I recently went happily along the new 2+ lane on the M62 towards Leeds.
We thought "this is great" as we passed a convoy of lorries on our offside - a strange feeling, "undertaking".
At 10:35 there were only two vehicles in the lane, us and a police vehicle - two pensioners off shopping, they perhaps going for their break.
The thing that surprised me was how abruptly the lane ended. Perhaps we were gloating too much and then, yes, you have guessed it, we quickly had to get back into the nearside lane with a convoy of lorries bearing down on us.
There really isn't much warning as to when the lane finishes, so please be aware that it is only just over a mile long. Quite a distance you might say, but not when you are the only vehicle in it.
My point is that it seems a waste of a lane during the day. Rush hour may be different but that is one time when you won't find me on it anyway.
