SIR - Changing Green Lane to Dr Gupta Lane will not, as Mrs Maureen Foy says, bring communities and people of every race together (T&A, December 29), for eradicating a name synonymous with Bradford's history for the past 100 years will evoke bitter resentment among the indigenous majority.
Mrs Foy ought to have submitted the doctor's name to the committee who are at present deciding which people are worthy of one of the new blue plaques. I might add there are many GPs in Bradford who go beyond the call of duty, mine included.
