SIR - I'm constantly being asked by friends and customers how is business? How is trade etc.

For the past three-four years I have replied that trade is okay, even though it is diminishing on a weekly basis.

Well I have reached a stage where I am finding it very hard to keep telling fibs!

A friend who owned Jacksons on Darley Street saw the signs before me. He could see what the council was doing to this once great city, so he sold up, joined the exodus and got out. His shop had been trading for over 70 years.

The city of Bradford is in a valley no more, it has become a ditch!

The Broadway fiasco, I dare not mention what I have been told about their work schedule up to 2010!

The Darley Street destruction! How is it improved?

The Park in the Heart! This will become a needle park and a haven for junkies, weirdos and wackos. Anyone with even half a brain knows that this is what will happen.

My message to Bradford Council is this, finish the job properly, and brick up my shop doorway!
