SIR - After reading in the Telegraph & Argus about the intended closure of our village branch of the Yorkshire Bank, which has been here for so many years and is so convenient for older residents as well as local businesses, it's not acceptable at all.
The nearest alternative is now Shipley or Bank Street Bradford, which is really out of the way for a lot of people. Their slogan is We Care About Here - it's obvious that they don't care at all.
The Yorkshire Bank in Bank Street, Bradford, is all state of the art to look at but the queues are just as long, taking ages to get to the counter.
The bank used to be just a place to save your money. Now, like the Post Office, it's about big business, caring little for customers, especially customers who can't walk very far, also people who are without transport and without much money for bus fares etc.
It's very sad that people are marginalised in this way.
