SIR – In the T&A dated March 8 there was an article regarding the council’s launch of the economic vision for Bradford, with the leader of the Lib Dems, Jeanette Sunderland, saying: “It has all happened before.” She then goes on to say: “In the land of statistics, Bradford is king. We have statistics for absolutely everything and have spent huge sums of money paying consultants.”
How ironic then, that on the previous page, councillor Rachel Sunderland, Lib Dem, espoused the virtues of such statistics. We all love statistics, in fact there are lies, damn lies and statistics, as we all know, but on this evidence of the right hand not knowing what the left hand is doing, or should that be centre, centre left, what chance does a third-rate party have of gaining any ground on the two major parties? Statistically speaking, 0 per cent. From a totally statistical point of view, you understand.
