SIR - A Shipman (T&A, June 19) has the typical old Labour attitude - I'm alright Jack' - because, over the past six months he has had excellent service from the NHS.

This should only be expected, in view of the billions of pounds thrown at it, but he has no thought for the thousands who have received a service more expected in Third World countries, through no fault of the dedicated people who work so hard and diligently in the NHS.

He got the treatment he desired, so why should anyone else complain.

One who hides the truth, lies, outright or through deceit, ensures himself a golden-goose pension, while his chancellor robs decent workers of theirs, has freebie holidays with political friends and calls a man like Clinton a man of honour and integrity, is himself a man of integrity. Don't make me laugh!

Such discerning people as A Shipman and Geoff Tasker vote for the Government of this once great country of ours, the very thought of it is alarming.

Given us back our country? Given it away more like!
