SIR - It is obscene that the Government is forking out £6,000 of tax payers money to provide a farewell party for Lord Levy, to mark his service as the Prime Minister's personal envoy in the Middle East (T&A, June 13).
Especially when 5ft 5in diabetic Sharon Johnson, of Little Horton, struggles to push the wheelchair used by her 15-year-old, 6ft, son Benedict, who has cerebral palsy (T&A, June 14).
Of course, your readers will raise the required £4,000-plus needed to buy the specialist electric wheelchair for this Bowling Special student, but they shouldn't have to.
Where is the NHS in all this? Despite their adverse circumstances, your picture of a laughing Johnson family was inspiring.
