SIR - Karl Dallas (T&A, June 14) supports the call for the law to be toughened in relation to cannabis, stating: "it is clear that most heroin users had started out on so-called soft drugs."
I suggest it is even clearer that most had started out on alcohol. Let's ban that too!
If we class all drugs together, and make the penalties equally harsh for all, some people may decided to use or supply the harder ones because they are "no worse" than cannabis.
I have some worries about new forms of cannabis that have appeared, but I know my favoured course of action.
Some users and dealers will look at the relative penalties and say "in for a penny"
Stupid, I know, but taking drugs, especially hard ones, is not exactly the cleverest of things to do.
