SIR - It was good to see that ‘spineless’ David Cameron has, at last, been shamed into taking part in (only) one TV election debate.

Albeit, he will only participate if there are seven other party leaders present (presumably to deflect flak from himself). Of course, not wishing to embarrass the poor lambs, questions are given to the participants days in advance.

By comparison, Vladimir Putin, the man he readily calls ‘undemocratic’ or a new ‘Stalin’ or ‘Hitler’, has recently given his annual press conference, in which he takes unrehearsed questions from the press – for three hours and often much longer !

On the subject of Russia, I was interested to note that the UK military, (shortly to be supplemented with the US military) are showing their determination to re-commence the genocide in East Ukraine by training the Ukraine National Guard (a polite term - given to the new battalions made up of former soccer hooligans of the Right Sector and Svoboda neo-Nazi parties).

I am reminded of the last joint UK/US ‘secret’ training mission when the trainees were the ‘moderate’ Syrian rebels, once trained, of course they became ISIS. Why am I experiencing a strong sense of deja-vu?
