SIR – Alex Suchi’s solution to migration (T&A March 13) is a novel one. There are a few cost-free alternatives, however.

Firstly, we could stop bombing countries back to the Dark Ages on behalf of the US. In this way, the terrified refugees would then be able to stay safely in their own countries.

Secondly, as good European members, we could exert our influence in Europe to stop Brussels inviting poverty stricken Eastern European countries into EU membership. While we understand that, once again, this is a US driven ploy to allow the US to firstly, asset strip the new member states, and then build military bases right up to the Russian border,(to further assist US hegemony) the unwanted result, (so far as Mr Suchi is concerned) is that any native resident of the ‘new’ EU member country, is absolutely entitled to come to this country, or any other EU member state.

Of course without these lame duck countries as EU members, the UK would no longer be able to cherry pick their professional and skilled workers – but we could off-set that issue by training our own massive army of disillusioned, unemployed, young people.
