SIR - Not a week seems to go by without another tax avoidance scandal. Whether its celebrities like Jimmy Carr or Gary Barlow, or large multinational companies like Starbucks, Amazon or Boots.
The cost of tax evasion to our economy has spiralled to more than £80 billion in 2014 and this continuesing to grow.
Alliance Boots have avoided nearly £1billion in tax and now want to bid for new contracts with the NHS.
Both Labour & Conservative governments have allowed multi-national corporations to effectively set their own rates of corporation tax for too long.
These tired, old Westminster parties have employed ten times more people to chase benefit fraud than to tackle tax avoidance from the HMRC.
I was alarmed to hear on Question Time, that Ukip MEPs voted against closing tax loop holes, but this only confirms my fear that Ukip are for the rich elite.
Our aim to re-establish a tax banding system and close all loopholes. Failing to pay a fair rate of tax directly impacts funding for our public services, the NHS, Education and Housing. Both I and the Green Party are working to make non-payment of taxes by individuals or companies socially unacceptable.
Andy Robinson, Green Party Parliamentary Candidate for Bradford South, Kenmore Crescent, Bradford
