Consider women’s privacy in new pool design
SIR – It is good to hear that the council is proposing to build new swimming-pools in Bradford (T&A, Tuesday, January 6).
But since the closure of the Manningham Baths there has not been a swimming-pool in Bradford with sufficient privacy for South Asian women to feel happy about going swimming.
I hope that in designing the new pools provision is made for this sizeable section of our population, with at least one pool able to be made secure so it cannot be overlooked for all-female swimming sessions.
