SIR – I am growing increasingly wary of the constant sniping and criticism of the Chancellor Mr George Osborne. It always amazes me that when a political party are in opposition they have all the answers to the country’s problems.

Why then do they not implement them when they are in power?

I respectfully ask Mr A Holdsworth how we can possibly expect another Labour Government to resolve our financial crisis when they were responsible for bankrupting our country during their last term of office.

They would have been relieved to have been voted out in 2010 enabling them to walk away and leave someone else to clear up the mess they had left behind.

I fervently hope they will not be voted in again next year to repeat the downward spiral when world leaders are again looking up to this country and admiring our achievements.
