SIR – I am in a dilemma in that while I have a responsibility to vote in the next general election, I do not have sufficient confidence in any of the political parties to patronise them.

However, Bradford has an enviable record of independent pioneering politics on the tradition of which we could establish the principle of voting for the person and using such personal politics to the advantage of Bradford rather than a self-seeking political clique.

We already have the basis in David Ward, Philip Davies and George Galloway, who are all their own men and particularly accomplished in divergent fields.

Complemented by someone who has espoused the principles of UKIP, for Bradford South and the replacement of the Hopkins cypher in Keighley by an Asian female, guided through the experience of Anne Cryer, we would have a formidable team.

Even with peripheral divergent views, they would be united in competency and Bradford certainly needs a competent and united voice in Westminster.

Members for Bradford MDC would give us something worthwhile to vote for and make the electorate feel that they are “rated”
