SIR – The T&A tells us (November 25) that Bradford Council is planning big cuts all round in its latest budget proposals.

Labour Council leader David Green states that they “will listen to what people say within the consultation period”.

Listen they may do, but will they act then accordingly? People have been asking for some considerable time for the council to do away altogether with all the costs relating to union representation. But have they? No.

So much for Councillor Green’s consultations - seemingly too often only a tick box exercise.
