SIR – A recent study by the World Cancer Research Fund has found that women on a plant-based diet are far more likely to survive breast cancer.
This adds to a long list of research that has found such diets help to reduce the likelihood of health problems including cardiovascular disease, stroke, obesity, high cholesterol and certain other types of cancer, such as bowel cancer.
This November, Animal Aid is supporting people across the UK in trying a plant-based diet as part of their Great Vegan Challenge and I would encourage readers to take part, both for the sake of their health and for the millions of animals on factory farms. Anyone who is interested can find out more at govegan.org.uk or by calling (01732) 364546.
