SIR - David Hornsby, (Letters, Tuesday 7th), quotes Labour MP, Michael Meacher, who said: “The NHS is increasingly being used as a support service for the private hospital sector. Thousands of people are regularly transferred to the NHS after treatment in private hospitals”.
I don’t think private patients would countenance that!
We know that Labour made extensive use of the private health sector to bring waiting lists down, necessitating the movement of patients between hospitals - both public and private.
I don’t recall any Labour politician complaining when Labour did that!
