SIR - In the story about unsolved burglaries (T&A, October 6), David Ward says that the same person could be responsible for several crimes.
This is often the case. At a meeting of Baildon Town Council A senior police officer boasted that they had caught a burglar who had admitted responsibility for 88 crimes.
Reckon that they have nothing to boast about when someone is allowed to commit 88 crimes before being caught, especially as it was implied that he would be let off with little more than a slapped wrist.
It is also alleged that there is an accepted balance between the amount of drugs crime and the number of convictions.
It would be interesting to know for what percentage of drugs crimes in Bradford the perpetrators are apprehended and convicted.
