SIR – I am concerned that the reporting on Bradford’s adoption performance was based upon out-of-date information.
Having checked our figures, I am happy to say that the figure for adoptions last year was 71, not 60.
Two years ago, we had more than 90 children awaiting adoption: now, that figure is reduced to around 50.
We also have 20 assessed adopters waiting for a match.
On top of this, Bradford is supporting children placed in their families with the move to Special Guardianship.
We are highly committed to ensuring Bradford children get stable, loving and permanent placements as soon as is possible.
If anyone is interested in adopting, they should contact the Adoption Unit on Bradford 434331.
Cllr Ralph Berry, Labour Councillor;Wibsey Ward, Bradford
