SIR – The dog thefts article (T&A, August 25) stated 123 dogs were stolen either for breeding or, more distressingly, fighting. It went on to conclude that it often ends with few arrests or convictions.
Correspondent Bob Watson (Letters, August 28) went on to mention how hugely disappointing this outcome was. What can be done to highlight the plight of these dogs? Historically speaking we have only had change when people have stuck their necks out and said “that’s not right”. Change only happens if issues are talked about.
