SIR - Thank for the reply in your Editor's Note (T&A, January 11) regarding the commencement of the Broadway development by Westfield.
Their statement that they will not commence building until tenants have signed for occupation surely means we have the Broadway Hill, above, for ever, as I am sure no company will sign a contract without a specified commencement date and completion of any development.
Can the Bradford public be told who is responsible for finding these tenants and, even more importantly, who allowed this situation to arise in the first place?
Regarding the City Park development, now in the Lottery Begging Fund, citizens are asked for their views on the redevelopment once again.
Had those who work in City Hall listened to the Bradford ratepayers in the first place Bradford regeneration would not be one big laugh.
What has been the cost of all the plans, travel to exhibitions, payments to Will Alsop and the many meetings of councillors that have taken place?
Will Bradford Council please give us the total cost of the Bradford city centre regeneration so far, and when will they see a city of which they can be proud?
Roy Powell, Hawes Drive, Bradford
