SIR - Considering the fact we have paid back our debt to America for the Second World War, we must have a vast amount of cash to play with at this time.

I would therefore suggest a consolidation period of not less than five years to put our own house in order.

Starting with a freeze on foreign aid, giving a living amount of money to pensioners, getting the homeless off the streets, putting a freeze on cheap foreign imports, encouraging the manufacture of quality British products, banning foreign call centres, making it law to provide direct communications with your bank/building society manager.

The list, bearing in mind the incompetence of those in power over the last ten to 20 years, is endless.

It would also help us a great deal if we were to bill the United States for dragging us into countless eastern conflicts.

There is also a big issue regarding the treatment of our armed forces personnel.

Is any one of the exalted few going to work on the will of the people or are we going to be sacrificed to create the Third World United Kingdom?
