No room for standing
SIR – I’ve never before heard of school children being made to stand at their desks for lessons (T&A, May 9).
It’s the kind of thing bogus schoolmaster Wackford-Squeers in Nicholas Nickleby would do.
Teachers who believe in this idiotic treatment of children are not fit for purpose. So come on, Michael Gove, put your house in order and ban this humiliating practice.
