SIR – Why do we have to wait almost two years for the opening of Low Moor station? After all, planning permission has been given. What’s the problem now?
Why is it to be built on the site allocated? If it is built here, the Spen Valley route will be cut off forever.
The station should be built on the site of the original station. This would be ideal for the links with the M606 and not having more traffic blocking Cleckheaton Road which is already a nightmare with HGVs using New Works Road.
The report (T&A, March 21) says people from Wyke will be able to use it. Yes, if they’ve got a car, but it will be two bus journeys otherwise. And Cleckheaton folk won’t use it. They’ll stay in their cars to Odsal/M606 and beyond.
