SIR – I am writing to say a massive thank-you to yourselves and all your readers.
On Thursday, February 13, you ran a story online and in the paper with the title about Bradford opticians collecting glasses for an African charity.
Since this story has been published we have been inundated with people from across Bradford donating their used glasses and sunglasses, receiving more than 200 pairs in just two weeks!
Please could you remind readers they have one more week to send their old or unwanted glasses (used or new). Please either drop them off or wrap them and post them in a jiffy envelope to Africa Connection, City Eyewear, 24 Ivegate, Bradford, BD1 1SW.
A team led by David Bass, chairman of local charity Africa Connection will be returning to Kenya in March 2014.
Thank you for helping us to make a massive difference!
Luke Baker, optometrists director, City Eyewear Opticians, Ivegate, Bradford
