SIR – My grandson suffers seizures and on many occasions has been taken to BRI. We cannot praise the staff enough in A&E for their efficient and professional treatment that they give.

While on holiday in the UK last year, my grandson was taken to hospital by ambulance. They put him in a room at the hospital and after 20 minutes we had to go search for the staff in A&E to come and see him – luckily he had come round by then but he still needed to be given oxygen.

If all the people that go to hospital when seeing a doctor would do, then the staff at hospital would not be under as much pressure on waiting time and would be able to concentrate on the real patients that need their care and attention. Then mistakes would probably not be made.
