SIR – I feel I must respond to Mr Barraclough’s accusations: “I come from Low Moor where councillors don’t do anything...” (Letters, September 6).
A new academy, a new public library, a refurbished waste and recycling facility, a new youth programme, refurbished social housing, etc.
Okay, there’s still a major problem with unadopted roads! Should we as councillors support public funds to adopt roads not owned by either the public or the Council?
May I remind Mr Barraclough that all three councillors from two different political parties live in the ward and communicate on constituents concerns, problems and many other issues daily.
Sadly, we don’t see Mr Barraclough at neighbourhood forums, residents meetings, Friend of groups, public consultations or councillor surgeries.
Incidentally, Low Moor Railway Station will re-open.
