SIR – I was very pleased to see that the Americans and ourselves have been warned to keep out of the trouble in Syria. It seems that we never learn from past mistakes.
I am old enough to have known British troops who were killed in Korea and I would have expected America to have learned from Vietnam to mind their own business.
We should stay out of other people’s wars. What good has it been getting involved in Afghanistan for the last 12 years?
