SIR – I recently patronised the refurbished National Media Museum cafe. While the ambience was good, the food was merely average and the prices topside.

In isolation, I doubt whether it will serve to enhance footfall for the enterprise as a whole.

The caterers are the multi-national Compass Group who have secured a contract until 2018. However, Compass are now working with M&S and have initiated the first scheme to “embed M&S Simply Food into its core retail offer”.

If M&S sandwiches, ready-to-eat meals and drinks were available at store prices, as is the case with M&S motorway outlets, then the catering footfall would bring the Media Museum within the province of a lot more Bradfordians.
