SIR – Ian Blatchford, chief executive of the Science Museums group, tells us that the National Media Museum was the one being lined up for closure, due to concerns about the way it had been run, and a perceived drift away from its science-focused remit.

But whose fault is that? As chief executive of the group, surely the buck stops with him? If anything or anyone has to go, then shouldn’t he be firstly looking in the mirror?
