SIR – Did you see a few days ago on television what can only be described as a wedding with a difference.

It took place at St Mary’s and St Martin’s Church in Blyth, with the vicar Kate Bottley officiating. We were treated during the service to what is known as ‘flash mob’ dancing.

Marriage is a serious business but where would we be without some fun in our lives? I know it would not be to everyone’s taste but we saw a display of fun and happiness at a very important time for the happy couple.

Will the macho dancing catch on? Probably not, but there are many weddings at the parish church here in Clayton, so could we at some time in the future see the vicar dancing in the aisles?

Perhaps this is unlikely but when all is said and done there is nothing wrong with a good measure of fun and happiness as we saw on this occasion.

Good luck to the bride and groom.
